Marcelle Cedars, MD

Director, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology · Fertility Specialist · Reproductive Endocrinologist

About Me

Dr. Marcelle Cedars is a Reproductive Endocrinologist who specializes in ovarian disorders such as ovarian aging and polycystic ovary syndrome. She also sees patients across the reproductive spectrum from adolescence to menopause, with a focus on complex endocrine problems and uterine anomalies. She directs the IVF program in partnership with Dr. Mitchell Rosen and believes understanding basic endocrinology and the reproductive system underlies all of fertility care. This deep understanding allows for better decision-making, improved care and research that will lead us to tomorrow’s medicine, today.

As Director of UCSF’s Reproductive Endocrinology Division, she coordinates, and champions, the relationship between scientific research and personalized care for patients. In her own research, she focuses on ovarian aging, and how it affects both fertility and women’s overall health, and studies the long-term health of children conceived after fertility treatments.

Dr. Cedars received her medical training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Parkland Memorial Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of California, Los Angeles.
