Family building with third party donors or surrogates

Sometimes the path to family building involves working with a sperm, egg, or embryo donor, or with a gestational surrogate. These “third party” options allow individuals or couples to move forward with family building when they might not otherwise be able to. These options also tend to raise a number of questions for prospective parents and require them to make a number of decisions. For example, how you find or select a donor or surrogate? What do you tell the child, or other friends and family members?
