Allison Altman, PhD

About Me

Dr. Altman is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience, particularly in women’s mental health and trauma. Her areas of expertise include the perinatal period, infertility, PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, grief following pregnancy loss, and adjustment to pregnancy and postpartum, especially for those with a history of infertility. Dr. Altman earned her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed her postdoctoral training in women’s health at the San Francisco VA Medical Center and UCSF. She has specialized training in evidence-based therapies, including CBT, DBT, CPT, PE, IPT, and mindfulness-based interventions. Dr. Altman’s approach is collaborative and goal-oriented, with a strong emphasis on empathy, validation, and balancing acceptance and change. In her free time, Dr. Altman enjoys running (on both roads and trails) and spending time chasing after her toddler at home.
